Subject: Renegade game
Somehow a game (ID 1094) managed to get added to the database without a title. I can't delete it, and it shouldn't be there. How mature is the software that you're using? It seems that it still has a few bugs (or maybe I'm just crazy).

Oh, and Doofus managed to become an archived resource and doesn't show up in searches. How come the problems are all happening for me, when I'm the one who can't fix them? EDIT: I think I know why - my permissions have been stripped away again. I can't even add resources any more.

I apologize for the trouble your experiencing, I'm still learning how to configure the software for various access levels.  The software is very mature - it was originally developed for Oxfam GB and is used by them to distribute over 30,000 resources.  The software was released for public use in 2006 and is used by many other museums and archives (even larger ones).  New versions come out every few months from the developers.

Because the software is designed for very large institutions I've found it to be very complex, and as a result I spend a lot of time digging through the manuals (which as open source software seem to go are always a work in progress...).  I will have to try figuring out the permissions again to find out what went wrong.  I've created a test account now to see things how you will see them on my end.

Doofus I turned into an archive resource so it's hidden, and the download is restricted, as I found out it is a pirated copy of the game.

Ooops, I'm so sorry. It was the only copy I could find and it looked legitimate enough. I'll be more careful from now on, I promise *facepalm*

1).  I expect the game got added to the archive without a title because a file was uploaded (zip/archive or preview image) after the title box got filled in.  The one "bug" I have found with the software is if you upload a file after filling in any of the text boxes, or selecting drop down boxes, that information is lost after a file is uploaded.  So the files must always be uploaded first.  There might be a way to fix this in changing the way resources are submitted - I'm still researching my options.

1b) When that happens (and I seem to get ~5 resources submitted daily from general users in this state) the only way to access the resource is to manually type in the resource ID address in your browser as there are no clickable links in the web software to get to them.  Usually instead of deleting them I will simply upload a game into that record.

2) The permissions issues you are experiencing I still don't understand, but have now just copied all of my permissions and given them to you (minus the system setup, and user creation/deletion).  So it all appears to be working okay again on my test account.

If you run into any more issues let me know - I receive e-mails on my phone so that is the quickest way to reach me.  Otherwise I check this forum once a day.

Thanks for your patience. Everything looks good now, and I'm glad to hear that the software being used is both open source and reliable.
